The country’s shops are stocked by fleets of vans fulfilling store owners’ orders. But orders can change overnight and trends can be bucked by such external factors as the weather, a cup final or a winter bug. Failure to address the normal and the abnormal can leave shelves empty and customers looking elsewhere.
TouchStar have come up with a number of solutions for van sales operations. Based around our TouchPCs and cradles, they can give van drivers daily delivery instructions as well as receive remote data from the driver or distribution centre via GSM/GPRS to update them on changed orders.
The TouchPCs can be left overnight in a bank of cradles, which can update the whole fleet’s units with price changes and delivery schedules while charging the batteries. In the morning the driver takes his unit and gets delivering, knowing precisely what each shop owner wants. He then goes down the list entering into the machine the quantities of products sold and prints off a receipt. If a signature is required, this can be captured on-screen and be printed as part of the receipt. The goods can then either be paid for or the receipt and signature can be transmitted to the office which can use it for invoicing.
By reducing human error, collecting money faster and eliminating wasted journeys, responding to changed orders and keeping control from a central depot or office, TouchStar’s van sales solutions are the efficient way to deliver.
